Emotional Literacy through Circle Time Network
The Calwell Cluster of schools has implemented a professional development network for teachers focusing on emotional literacy and circle time. The Calwell Cluster of schools has been recognised nationally as a cluster of Good Practice Schools.
The Emotional Literacy through Circle Time Network was developed following a program that was implemented across the Calwell Cluster, focusing upon Values and Emotional Literacy. The Cluster was invited to participate in a national project promoting Values Education. The Cluster worked collectively to develop a framework which supports the development of Emotional Literacy throughout the cluster community. We are working collaboratively on the project, to establish and document Emotional Literacy Best Practice under the guiding principles of The National Framework for Values Education.
We are committed to using Restorative Practices as the approach to building and maintaining positive relationships throughout the cluster. The development of Emotional Literacy has been recognised as a core element in the success of this approach.
